This is another older piece, uploaded by request. 2003, using Berol prismacolor pencils on large sketchpaper. I did this one while visiting a cottage with my in-laws in northeron Ontario. It was the first 'finished' piece I had done in quite a while.
I can't help but compare it to the coloured work I'm doing now, and I feel like this one is not very bold, nor very deep in comparison. Part of that is, no doubt, the medium, but I expect a fair amount is also in my personal style. It can be interesting to look back over things I've done in the past and see where I've lost and where I've gained. |
